Seychelles, also called the "Galapagos of the Indian Ocean," is made up of approximately 115 islands, unspoiled with construction of new hotels strictly limited. The people are extremely friendly, the beauty of the islands unmatched - an excellent choice for an add-on to a safari or a honeymoon. The eclectic cuisine is influenced by India, Asia and France. The Seychelles lies outside the cyclone belt with a climate that is warm and humid year round. Due to its geographic isolation, the flora and fauna is unique; it includes the giant land tortoise (150,000 of them!), the smallest frog on earth and endemic birdlife. Nearly 50% or the land is set aside for national parks, World Heritage sites and Nature reserves and the diving is amongst the best in the world.

The capital is Zanzibar City, located on the island of Unguja. Its historic centre is Stone Town, which is a World Heritage Site.
Other tropical islands in the region include Mauritius and several islands off the coast of Mozambique.
